Specialist Joinery - Exceptional Interiors

Our Story

Founded in 1982 by Derek Galloway and Martin Preen, Martek began as a traditional shopfitter, serving the retail sector. It soon became clear that to truly guarantee quality, Martek needed full control of the manufacturing process — marking the start of our journey into specialist bespoke joinery.

VALUES

Quality

Excellence is our standard.

Creativity

Making the impossible, possible.

Diversity

We recognise that our differences make us stronger.

Integrity

We uphold the highest standards in everything we do.

Pride

In our people and projects.

At Martek, sustainability is integral to how we operate. Accredited with Carbon Smart Gold, we continuously invest in technology, innovation and training to reduce our environmental impact and operate more efficiently across every aspect of our business.

All of our timber is sourced sustainably and is FSC- or PEFC-certified. We have rigorous systems in place to minimise waste, reduce deliveries and prioritise recycle/reuse, with every team member encouraged to contribute ideas for continuous improvement. Our car vehicle fleet is now fully electric or hybrid, supported by dedicated charging bays at our production facility.

Martek is also proud to support the wider move towards environmental responsibility through our specialist division, Martek Zero Waste, which focuses on the reduction of single-use plastics and the promotion of sustainable solutions across our industry.

Accredited with ISO 9001 – excellence is our standard.

At Martek, quality underpins everything we do. Our dedicated and highly skilled team takes pride in delivering exceptional results on every project, ensuring craftsmanship, precision and consistency from start to finish.

With our in-house production facility, we maintain full control over every stage of the process — from design development and manufacture to final installation. This hands-on approach allows us to monitor, refine and guarantee the level of quality our clients expect from Martek.

Accredited with Constructionline Gold, health and safety underpins everything we do.

Every project is managed through robust Risk Assessments and Method Statements, ensuring safe, controlled delivery from start to finish. We maintain a strong safety culture through regular toolbox talks, training and site briefings, with all operatives CSCS-certified and trained to our exacting standards. Supported by SSIP accreditation and membership of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, we are committed to working safely, responsibly and professionally on every site.

Building with purpose – supporting people, communities, and causes.

For over40 years, Martek has proudly supported The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for the rehabilitation and care of children with brain injuries. From gala dinners and sporting sponsorships to mountain climbs and charity treks, our team has continually raised funds and awareness for this life-changing organisation. Each year, our Christmas donations also go directly to the Trust to help sustain its vital work.

A recent challenge saw a seven-strong Martek team trek 50km through the Derbyshire Peaks, climbing 1,400 metres — the equivalent of scaling the Empire State Building four times — and raising over £10,000 for The Children’s Trust.

In 2025, we’re proud to support the Southsea Scullers as they row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic, raising funds for Parkinson’s research and the MSA Trust. Their endurance and commitment perfectly reflect the spirit of the Martek team.

At Martek, we believe in giving back — supporting the people, charities, and communities that inspire us every day.
