We are seeking skilled cabinet makers to join our team. You will be involved in producing high-end joinery and specialist furniture for luxury projects, with a strong emphasis on quality and detail.
About Us:
Martek, based in New Addington (CR0 0AE) near Croydon, is one of the UK’s top joinery contractors with over 40 years of experience. We design, manufacture, and install specialist joinery for prime residential and commercial sectors, primarily in London, but also throughout the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in high-end joinery or furniture making for luxury markets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
Skilled with woodworking machinery and hand tools, including panel saw, band saw, morticer, spindle moulder, planers, thicknesser, tenoner, edge bander, and various finishing tools. - Experience with hardwood, softwood, plywood, veneered boards, veneers, laminates and solid surfaces
- Proficient in reading and interpreting design drawings and plans
- Experience in veneering, laminating and edge banding
- Strong knowledge of hardware, glues, fixings and fittings
- Good knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Knowledge of design software like SketchUp or AutoCAD is an advantage
- Live within a 45-minute commute of CR0 0AE
- Full, clean UK driving license is beneficial
Person Specification:
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to prioritise, plan and manage time effectively
- Self-motivated with good communication skills
- Conscientious with a desire to learn and progress
- Ideally apprenticeship-served or holding a relevant qualification
- A valid CSCS Card is beneficial (we can assist in obtaining one)
Willingness to work extra hours when necessary. - You must be eligible to work in the UK. We welcome new entrants, but you will need to provide proof of your right to work and have a basic understanding of English.
