Bristol Southmeads Update

Two years on since Carillon started building the new hospital at Bristol Southmeads and the external of the building is officially complete. Work on the interior of the building is well underway and most of the en-suite shower and toilet rooms are now installed in the single inpatient rooms.

 

The new site will be one of the most environmentally friendly hospitals of its size in the UK. 75% of the rooms will be single bed with en-suite toilet and shower rooms, 25% of beds will be in four-bed bays, 2,700 car parking spaces will be created in addition to improved transport links and more importantly all medical services and expertise will be under one roof.

 

The £430m PFI hospital will be open to patients in Spring 2014 and Martek have a completion date of May 2013.
